Q. Creating a Pull List for Research Appointments
One requirement for a researcher to have a Ridgway Library/USAHEC Research Appointment accepted is a full pull list. This document should be a word document attached to the research appointment request or sent to LibAnswers before your scheduled appointment date. The following is an accepted format for a Pull List:
- Archival Collection:
- All Volunteer Army Collection: Boxes 1, 3, and 6
- Fort Sheridan Collection: Box 1
- Books:
- May, John Williams. The All Volunteer Army: Impact on Readiness.UB323 .M395 1979a
- Bailey, Beth. America's Army: Making the All-Volunteer Force. UB323 .B35 2009
If you do not know what collections or books you are looking to pull for your appointment, you can use the following resources to develop your list:
- Library Catalog: Primo (when searching the catalog, select the "Held by Library" filter and look for Ridgway Library)
- Archival Catalog: Archival Management System (This will give you the digital collection, but also provide lists of collections that are held at Ridgway on their FAQs "Archival Guides")
- Archival Finding Aids: Finding Aids (This provides both Manuscript and Photograph Collections. Note: Not all collections have finding aides)
- Subject Reference Bibliographies: Please use LibAnswers to ask Ridgway staff to send digital reference bibliographies (They are outdated but in the process of being updated).
